Privacy & data

Safe by design. Private by default.

Zooylo is built to do less, not more, with data — especially children's. This page explains our approach in plain language.

Who we are

Zooylo is an independent product built and operated by a solo developer. It is not yet a registered company. For any privacy question or request — including access, correction or deletion — contact privacy@zooylo.app, and we'll respond personally.

Our approach to children's data

Children's privacy comes first. We design to collect as little as possible, to keep a child's activity on the device wherever we can, and to never profile children for advertising. Zooylo is a skill-building app — not therapy, assessment or a medical device — and we do not create clinical or diagnostic records about a child.

What we collect

  • On the device (child use): game activity and progress is stored locally on your device to power the parent and educator views. Offline-first means this does not require an account or a server connection to work.
  • Waitlist & pilot enquiries: when you choose to give them, we collect the details you submit — for the waitlist, your name and email; for a pilot enquiry, also your organisation, role, country and the number of families you support — so we can respond. These are collected through Google Forms.
  • What we do not collect in child mode: no camera, microphone, location, contacts, or advertising identifiers.

How we use information

  • To show parents and educators a child's progress, on the device.
  • To respond to waitlist sign-ups and pilot or demo requests.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the marketing website is used — via Google Analytics on this site only, never inside the child app, and never to profile individual children.

Analytics & cookies

On this marketing website we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate visits — for example, which pages are most read. This may set cookies in your browser. We use it only for site statistics, not to build profiles of individuals, and there is no analytics and there are no advertising trackers inside the child app. You can block analytics cookies with your browser settings or a tracker-blocking extension.

No ads, no selling data

We do not show advertising in child mode, we do not sell personal data, and we do not allow third-party behavioural advertising trackers in the child experience.

Sharing

We don't sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run Zooylo, and only as needed: Google (Google Forms for waitlist and pilot enquiries, and Google Analytics on this website), Cloudflare (website hosting and delivery), and our email provider (to reply to you and send any updates you opt into). Each processes data on our behalf under their own terms.

Your choices and rights

  • Delete on-device data at any time from within the app — it's immediate and complete.
  • Access, correct or delete contact details you've shared with us by emailing privacy@zooylo.app.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your personal data — for example under Malaysia's PDPA, the EU/UK GDPR, or US laws such as COPPA and CAADCA. Email privacy@zooylo.app and we'll help.

Standards we align with

We design to align with COPPA, GDPR-K (Article 8), the UK Children's Code (Age-Appropriate Design Code), California's CAADCA, Malaysia's PDPA, and the Apple Kids and Google Play Families programme requirements.

Changes to this statement

If we make material changes, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above, and — where we have your email and the change is significant — let you know by email.
